If there is either a constant longing for future success, or a constant longing for the success of the past, there must be a refocusing of energy toward the near future. A company must create a bright "soon-to-be present" for itself in order to avoid becoming a victim of nostalgia or predictions.
Bringing back things that worked in the past can be profitable. Speculating on projects that will not reach the market for a long time might be profitable. But most companies must look toward the immediate future. They have to make sure the competition will not soon overwhelm them. They have to ensure that there will be no financial problems on the immediate horizon. Finally, they have to see the future as the present... only a few days/weeks/months ahead. These attitudes will help focus a company.
