There are four things any webmaster can do to drastically improve thier ranking on the top Search Engines.

1) Website Design. Make sure you are designing the website to be search engine friendly. Google prefers lots of content. 250 words minimum per page is highly recommended. The content should also include your keyword phrases. For example, my website's main phrase is Toronto Website Design Company. I am using the keyword phrase Toronto website design company and toronto website design etc. in the content. I also found that creating internal links with the same keyword phrases helps. For example: I linked ( bottom of the page )Toronto website design company to http://www.quantummedia.ca/index.html.

2) Optimize your pages. Make sure you have your main key word phrase included in the title meta tag as well as the description tag. Make sure you rotate your top three keyword phrases on different pages and include the keyword phrases in your image Alt tags.

3) Subscribe to a good automated submission system. I found MSN SubmitIt to be very useful. It was only $49.00/year.

4) Subscribe to as many free link exchange systems as you can. Here are two good ones: www.linkmarket.net and www.monsterlinkswap.com. There are several more. The more websites linking to your site the more likely that you will be ranked higher on Google.
